It’s been a while since I last updated my hair routine and my hair
progress. At the beginning of October I decided to go back to Salon Tocci to
have another hair session with Marie-Eve, since it’s been approximately a month
since the last time I got my colour done. Over the past month, I was able to
take care and improve my hair; since the beginning of my hair journey with Redken, my hair has
gotten thicker and smoother! In this session, my hair was strong enough for another
round of hair lightening (the last colour I had was slightly darker from my
ideal colour), but now I am light beige/ash-blonde in colour with a tone of silver!
I’m absolutely in love with it! I never thought I’d be able to pull off such a
light colour, but it really suits my skin tone and my everyday makeup.
Trust me, I know how difficult it is to maintain this ashy
blonde colour, but you know beauty is pain… Here’s some advice and my recommendations!
I personally have very frizzy, thin and brittle hair, which causes my hair to
look super dry all the time. I have learned to train my hair, as crazy as it
sounds: currently, I wash my hair every four to five days, this was definitely
a huge step for me as I went from washing my hair everyday, to only every 4-5
days. Of course, thanks to Redken’s Two Day Extender Dry Shampoo,
my hair was able to look like first day hair with no oily roots or odor! I am
currently using Redken’s Frizz Dismiss collection every time after washing my hair, which makes it incredibly smooth and shiny
(say bye-bye to all the frizz)! One of my absolute must-haves in this
collection would be the Rebel Tame this is a leave-in smoothing control cream for coarse hair; you simply apply a
handful of this cream and run it through your hair after washing it. After just
one use of this product, I noticed a huge difference; my hair is so silky
smooth and looks shiny in all of my photos!
Some masks that I have been loving:
All Soft Heavy Cream: designed to be a rinse-out mask, but I use alternatively as a heavy-duty
conditioner. I normally leave my conditioner in my hair for 10-15 minutes so that
the product soaks deeply in to my hair. This product helps to moisturize dry
and brittle hair and is much needed for days that you need good care and
hydrating session. It adds softness and shine texture to your locks!
Frizz Dismiss Mask Treatment:
I like to use it once a week for an extra frizz-free treatment. A rinse-out
mask, I’d apply it and leave it in my hair for 30 to an hour, while doing some
work and catch up on social media. This is a great way to nourish my hair, make
it frizz-less and more manageable!
The Redken Silver Charge Shampoo:
this product definitely helps to keep my brassiness away! If you know me, you
would understand how much I hate seeing copper and brassy orange in my hair, I
think I would go crazy looking at it! A trick I learned from dealing with
blonde hair is to use a purple hair mask–this is a great purple shampoo on its
own, but also a great purple hair mask as well! On bad days, when my blonde
hair decided to show up with brassiness, I would mix a few drops of this
shampoo with the All Soft Heavy Cream, mixing it well and applying it on my dry
hair. This not only helped my hair to get rid of the brassiness, but also
moisturized it. I normally leave this mask on for around 30-45 minutes and the
result is incredible! I would not be able to see brassiness for weeks, and it
left my hair ashy and smooth! Definitely worth a try for all you blondes!
I can’t wait for another chapter
of hair magic with Redken and I’m so excited to share more with you!
Love,
Chloe Zhang
I'm obsessed with your hair color! I wish I was able to pull it off but it doesn't go well with my dark complexion. :( I remember dying it a yellow-blonde color a few years ago and everybody hated it because it was lighter than my skin color. I personally liked it but keeping up with it was the hard part so after a year of damage, I went back to brown/black.
