Everyone was surprised by my hair colour, I went from blonde to black real quick in the past week. I've been blonde for two years now, constantly getting my hair done, bleaching, or toning every three to six weeks. My hair is getting thinner and thinner, as well as a lot of my hair start to fall out more and more, also I already have very thin hair to begin with. My hair's quality unable my hairstylist to bleach further to achieve the dream ashy grey blonde look that I always wanted. However, I am thankful my hairstylist Gwyneth Fung at Toni & Guy Yorkville, I am for sure a challenge. I am very picky with my hair and constantly having different shade of blonde. About a month ago, Gwyneth introduced a dark toner with a tint of blue, grey and black tone, into my blonde hair. It took me by surprise, at that moment it triggered me wanting my black hair back. One thing about this toner is the colour fades overtime. The black tone would last about 3 washes, then fades into a very ashy grey for another 3 washes; eventually it fades to an ashy blonde. This is definitely a great way for all you blonde ladies to test out the darker hair but can still maintain your blonde!

3 Reasons Why I Went Back to Black
1. Less Maintain and Regular touch up
I am constantly back at the salon once every 3 weeks, because my hair base is very brassy and orange tone. A quick trip to the salon on an average, I spent at least one and half hour there, it is very time consuming.
2. Healthier and silky texture
You can probably see my hair texture in a lot of my photos, when I was blonde, my hair was very frizzy and unhealthy. It is very hard to manage, especially with all the split ends. As well as theres a lot of fall outs. Very often I would skip brushing my hair, because my brush would get stuck and a huge amount of hair would break off.
3. Using less expensive products
Anyone tried being blonde would understand how costly it is. Purple shampoo are more expensive than regular shampoo and it gets use up very fast. Also, in order to get the toning effect you have to use way more than a regular amount. When it comes to masking and conditioner, you use at least double the amount in order to look a little more healthier.
This is one of the big change in 2017, I finally let go of my desire of being blonde! I think I can be happier having black hair for awhile. Not planning to change my hair colour anytime soon, because I know for a fact that my hair needs a break or else I will probably be bald next year.
